Our History
Embarking on a journey that spans over five decades, we, the Colorguard Collective Edmonton (CGCYEG), have evolved into a dynamic and innovative ensemble in the "Sport of the Arts."
Our roots trace back to 1966 when we first emerged as the Edmonton All-Girl Drum and Bugle Band. With a mission to foster a love for music as both an art form and recreational pursuit, we also sought to nurture musicians' skills, sportsmanship, and character.
In 1978, we rebranded as the Edmonton All-Girl Marching Ambassadors, paving the way for a new era. The year 2000 marked a significant transformation as we bid farewell to our music program, embracing a pioneering path as Edmonton's first independent colorguard, proudly naming ourselves the Ambassadors Colorguard Ensemble.
Focused on achieving excellence in the world of winterguard, we channeled our energies into becoming a formidable force in the "Sport of the Arts." Competing as an Independent A winterguard, we ventured into WGI Regionals and the CWA (Canadian Winterguard Association) circuit, leaving our mark with every performance.
In 2018, fueled by a desire to embrace the future while cherishing our heritage, we took a leap forward, modernizing our identity and adopting the name Colorguard Collective Edmonton (CGCYEG). Our journey continues with relentless dedication, as we expand our horizons and venture beyond, competing and performing in the Alberta winterguard circuit, and touring to regionals in the esteemed WGI circuit.

Our legacy of passion and pursuit of excellence remains our guiding light as we embrace the boundless possibilities that lie ahead.
